Not recommended. This is an incredible true story about an extraordinary man. But the film was not well executed at all. It lingered endlessly on certain scenes that do not forward the narrative or your understand of how Louie keeps going. The structure could have been a lot better. And why would you show the most interesting part of the story when Louie (*spoiler alert*) returns to Japan to forgive his captors? A better film on a similar subject is Railway Man.

Just inspiring. If we had more people with his spirit, the world would be a greater place. I salute you and your memory, brother.

I know a lot of people have canned this film but I thought it was very good. 😁
