About this movie

Jesse Sorensen (played by co-writer JESSE GAY) ruled Florida as a pro skater. Now six years later, with his glory days behind him, Jesse is dropped by his skate team and all but forgotten.
Broke, he moves back in with his elderly grandmother only to discover his 17-year old niece, Samantha (CORSICA WILSON - "In a World...", "Dead Season"), crashing there as well, following the same slippery slope Jesse once paved with the hottest new skater in town. Now Jesse must confront what he has spent his entire life avoiding - responsibility - and figure out his future once and for all. Filmed on location in Florida, including at the legendary KONA SKATEPARK, the film is "a thing of pure joy to watch...sure to go down as a classic." (ROGUE CINEMA) with "beautifully filmed skateboarding scenes...solid acting performances and an equally solid script with likeable, true-to-life characters." (EXAMINER.COM).

VEER!'s story and acting are genuine and raw. The story touches on the bittersweet experiences in life that often leave you feeling nostalgic for what used to be and at the same time hopeful for what is yet to come. Subtle comedic moments keep it fun. Great visual storytelling with shots that you won't forget.

Realistic depiction of the struggles facing an ex-pro skater after the limelight fades and the harsh light of real life resumes. Love the use of old-school b/w film mixed with HD color. More exposions would have earned the 5th star.

This film dares. In combination with the careful artistry of balancing the portions of the story color with the portions in black and white, this film aims and succeeds in telling a touching story and embracing the humor of everyday struggles: holding on to old dreams, forging new paths, letting go of lost plans, trying to connect with others and the world... The soundtrack is superb and works so well with the overall tone of the film. This is an unforgettable story told in a unique voice that has the true power of being refreshingly relatable.
