When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn't going to be as easy as they thought. In the living room, a lifeless body holds court before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of VHS tapes. The idea behind the different video tapes showing horrific footage is original and intriguing, but for me it was all way too disjointed and confusing. The footage on the tapes isn't really scary at all, save for the first and last ones that I thought were relatively creepy, but for the most part things are severely underexplained and random,relying on the viewer's naivety and lack of care for a proper storyline or even just plot points that make sense. I found myself very underwhelmed throughout the film.

Quite scary in places. The people portrayed are very annoying but they're not in the film for long before it moves on.

Interesting, But The Faux Footage Genre Is Beginning To Lose Its Charm. IMO.
