In his quest to liberate England from its oppressiveideological chains,"V" recruits a young woman (Natalie Portman - StarWars: Episodes I-III) he's rescued from the secret police to join him onan epic adventure to execute a seemingly impossible task.

This film is corny now after all these years, the idea of "fight the establishment" and that the establishment is always evil is naive and immature. However, the acting is good thanks to Weaving, Rea and Hurt. The direction was also good but the screenplay was simply pretentious. A good watch if you're watching it for the first time, otherwise a forgettable film.
