Julie (Jessica Rothe) is the ultimate '80s Valley Girl. A creative free spirit, Julie's time is spent with her best friends shopping at the Galleria mall and making plans for senior prom. That is, until she falls hard for Randy (Josh Whitehouse), a Sunset Strip punk rocker, who challenges everything the Valley and Julie stand for. Despite push-back from friends and family, Julie must break out of the safety of her world to follow her heart and discover what it really means to be a Valley Girl. Set to a rock 'n roll '80s soundtrack produced by legendary Harvey Mason, Jr. with dance numbers by choreographer Mandy Moore, "Valley Girl" is a musical adaptation of the classic 1983 hit film that changed American teenage life forever.

A soulless remake of the earnest 1983 film, 'Valley Girl' has little to offer fans of the original. You can tell who the film is being marketed to by the casting of Logan Paul, and cameos by contemporary comedians and Disney child stars. While the script is more streamlined and character focused, this film suffers from not understanding the era it is satirizing, let alone the 'punk' vs 'valley' cultures. This effectively neuters it of providing any meaningful critique or even having a purpose.

Ok !! I generally never give movie reviews because to each there own...some love it and others hate it lol... all i can say is this movie is not perfect however its the most fun ..feel good ..happy movie i have seen in a long time .... As long as you dont compare to the original you will be good.... THIS IS A MUSICAL ADAPTATION!! There is some amazing actors and actresses in this and you can tell they put alot of love and heart into this throwback to the 80s ... definitely worth the $$

Honestly I am not a fan of musicals but the movie had more to it. And when I went into it I was like this is gonna be really bad. But I ended up buying it! That how much I liked it! I knew I would wanna re-watch it. I love all the actors in it and think they did a great job. I wish the ending was a bit more satisfying but other than that it was great! And Randy is my new crush of 2020 lol! So I'd say give the movie a shot it has funny, sad, romantic, and eye opening moments. That made me want to be more spontaneous in my life! Excellent watch I'd say! (All this from a cynical reviewer, I'm shocked)
