An unexplained blackout plunges the city of Detroit into total darkness, and by the time the sun rises, only a few people remain, surrounded by heaps of empty clothing, abandoned cars and lengthening shadows. A small handful of strangers that have survived the night (Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo and Jacob Latimore) each find their way to a rundown bar. With daylight beginning to disappear completely and whispering shadows surrounding the survivors, they soon discover that the enemy is the darkness itself.

The movie itself was rreaaly good, kept me on the edge of my seat. BUT the ending was horrible. I feel like anymore, the endings to most movies suck. It ruins the entire movie. I would have loved to see what happened after the fact. But if that doesn't bother you, than I would check it out, it was really good other than that.

This wasn't a home run but it was interesting enough for a viewing. The plot could have been fleshed out more, the end was a bit unsatisfying and the effects although minimal could have been better. On the flip side its well acted, the story really is interesting and it keeps your attention most of the time. Rent it though don't buy it.

It made my heart race a few times.. But wasn't terrifying.. Still pretty good.. It gives you a small amount of back story which is always good.. But I would have loved to know what the whole Croatian thing was about.. Why the dark shadows were doing this and the end could have been way better.. Explaining what happens after everything.. Does it ever end .. Does the darkness end.. Do they find help.. And do they find answers .. I don't like when movies leave so many unanswered questions.. Worth the watch tho
