Best anti-hero movie ever. Love the Symbiosis-human concept. As long as the host is compatible you get a fine product. Eddy is really played nicely by Tom Hardy as the "looser" who gets a lifetime chance to redeem himself. Didn't really like his gf much the typical blonde "gold-digger" type who abandon her man when he was trying to do his job right. The part where he calls in for "mask"and he gets full body chance was great too. The action/fight scenes were well presented and just the idea of the villain being a good guy for once under a different light was nice to see. Venom is way better than childish "spider man" for sure. I hope they recruit him in a future marvel badass "suicide squad" scenario. It sure was some £4 well spent for the rental in SD during spring sale times. Just wished Google had subtitles for its movies though.

An extremely underwhelming and forgettable experience. I gave this a wide berth at the cinema but was intrigued after seeing the truely excellent 'Enter the Spider-verse', i shouldnt have bothered and honestly neither should you. Paper thin story, terrible dialogue and very basic action set pieces. Not up to Sony's recent standards since partnering with Marvel even if this appears to be apart from the MCU. Avoid.

Overall, I enjoyed (and still do) watching this film. Many people were let down by this film, but here's a tip. Any time you are disappointed by a film that you were expecting to be better, watch it at least 3 times. You will find bits that make more sense, and the even the jokes seem better. There were small bits of this I didn't like even after watching it several times though, such as the voice of venom - It was way too deep.I bought this film in 3D which was really good.
