The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers - transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?

The critics are doing their jobs but this movie was what comic book fans would expect. I felt there was a plot weakness (I know, I know...shocker) due to the lack character development for the Venom symbiote. If you are a comic book fan, the weakness is not as pronounced. The ending felt like the movie makers ran out of money. Next time, shorten an action scene or two for 5 or 6 sentences of plot.

Another origin story that misses the mark. The Spiderman cartoon did a better job of portraying Venom. The special effects are great but the story has Eddie Brock taking on some Elon Musk/ Mark Zuckerberg bad guy. Venom ends up battling another symbiote but they aren't clear if it's Carnage or not. The last 20 mins are predictable, there is a lame love interest and this story just feels recycled. Worst part is since it's PG-13, there's no blood, despite Venom eating people's head's on-screen.

Can't believe this movie has such a high rating on here.Just a run of the mill, cookie cutter, recycled story line, cash grab. Bad cgi effects that look like from the mid 90's. Tired recycled story line. The character tom hardy plays is a wierd nassaly loser. If your in the mood for a goofy sci fi movie, watch critters or Independence day instead of the garbage.
