Missing something that the first had. Both movies are not 'good' in terms of writing. But there was and is something special about how Tom Hardy portrays venom. Particularly in the first movie. This movie delivers exactly what you expect if you've seen the first movie. It's the same type of quality. I dunno how to explain that it's good and bad all at once. Don't expect marvel quality? Just watch it and let it take you where it takes you without inflated expectations and you will enjoy yourself

If i did not know how badly the original story and characters were butchered this may have been something I could mindlessly enjoy for the decent effects and whatnot. Unfortunately I do know... it made this film nothing short of a painful joke for me. Carnage was/is one of the most memorable villains in the marvel universe. Massive losses were seen in both civilian lives and that of super heroes. Collaborations between many different hero types, including both spider man and venom, was required to bring him down in the end and it was one hell of a battle. This movie did not do him justice and would have been better not being made at all.

Being as brief as possible, this is not a good movie. It took the one half decent element of the first one, that being Eddie and Venoms banter between each other and tripled down on it in the dumbest ways possible. Fans of Carnage won't like it, fans of Venom shouldn't like it, and fans of some form of intelligent thought in their movies shouldn't like it. This movie might have been written by a bot.
