Ryan McCarter
Not only is this movie not stale, it's actually more relevant today than it was back in the 1980s. Today, with the Internet, and more TV channels than Cronenberg could have dreamed of back then, people are more capable than ever before of controlling exactly what they see and read and thus, precisely determining the contents of their own private reality. Oddly enough, real life turns out to be scarier than the movies, even those made by masters like Cronenberg.

This is definitely a mind altering film. It's in my top 10 and probably my favorite David Cronenberg film. It blew me away when I saw it when I was a kid I & knew I was watching something progressive. It was definitely ahead of its time and even if you watch it today doesn't feel dated. To me it's partly a cautionary tale about societies vices & escapism but in the end its just a hard core down the rabbit hole twisted ride. It's an all around one of a kind original masterpiece.
