What can I say...it's ridiculous, dumb entertainment, and I love every minute of it. Come on, we all love to watch Tommy Lee Jones order people around; this movie was basically created so we could watch him do it again, plus destroy L.A. No issue with that in my book.

Ever wanted to go to Hawaii just to throw trinkets into lava? I have a film for you. Volcano is a a typical 1990's disaster film. THe science and characters are weak and the effects over the top. Starring Tommy Lee Jones in what I would consider one of his more....called in, performances. He attempts to both save his daughter and try and keep the City of Los Angles when a sudden volcano appears in the center of the city. Edited rather poorly, Including several scenes where they forgot to add the lava effect to the shot this film requires a lot of suspension of disbelief. Especially when it comes to the characters interactions. Surprisingly the most realistic character in this film is the films antagonist. The volcano. Which as long as you discount the dated CGI of some of it. Feels like a real threat. Fun Fact, The lava isn't CGI, Its paint on a model set. It really does look the part. So if your looking for a film to just enjoy destruction. This is a good distraction
