Getting this out the way 1st, my HD rental was crisp, reenactments were spot on and not under budget, and overall the production is top notch... Now reviewing the content - This is one of the best ww2 docs I have ever seen. I came out knowing the real reason of the Dieppe raid tragedy through declassified material, first hand accounts, and archival research. Kudos to the author for giving the the real heros of the battle closure for their sacrifices. Any fan off ww2 must watch this as it uncovers a new shocking reason for the raid, as well as surprising cast of characters who worked behind the scenes in it's planning. The film ended with me saying WOW!?

An excellent documentary on one of the worst tragedies of WW2 the allies encountered between Dunkirk and D-Day. French locals of Dieppe still tell of the sounds of that terrible morning battle, saying that the ghosts of so many Canadians who died on Blue Beach have refused to rest. Now, thanks to this documentary, perhaps they will find peace... because they did not die in vain. Five stars for filling a long empty space in the annals of WW2 history. Thanks to Google Play for making it available.
