The Doc is more about the issues in the elementary and high school system. One of them is What is great and what is bad on Teacher's tenure system ? Teachers can easily get tenure position after 2 years seating, which is much easier than University Professors who have to work hard for 20 years. $100, 000 per year salary for a tenure position as basic education teacher. Good for them. Another good news is that US-children are ranked #1 in self-confidence, even though they got below 25th place on tests in a world-level comparison. Real champion on Self-confidence !!!

Deeply disturbing. That we are so dependent on such an arcane system that is so broken is deeply worrying. Hard to believe that even the worst teachers cannot be fired due to tenure while the best cannot be rewarded. What a completely screwed up system!
