Candy (Charlize Theron) and Lonnie Earl (Billy Bob Thornton) are just crazy about each other. The problem: she's married to Roy (Patrick Swayze) and he's married to Darlene (Natasha Richardson). Hilarity ensues as their secret affair is exposed when the couples embark on a cross-country road trip to a truck show in Reno.
