The "mystic chords of memory" stretch a long way for aspiring politico Fielding Pierce (Billy Crudup). Wracked with guilt at expedient choices he made years before, Pierce (in the middle of a congressional election) begins to see visions of his long-lost love (Jennifer Connelly), who died while assisting members of the Chilean resistance a decade before.

This movie has good acting and a decent and interesting story. But Jennifer Conley's character is DEAD throughout the film (she's only seen in flashbacks)! Still, Jennifer's acting is dead on great IMO. Can't give it too good a rating, too depressing, sorry...
