About this movie

From legendary director Steven Spielberg comes the epic adventure War Horse, a tale of incredible loyalty, hope and tenacity. Based on the Tony award-winning Broadway play, and set against the sweeping canvas of World War I, this deeply heartfelt story begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and his young trainer Albert. When they're forced apart by war, we follow Joey's extraordinary journey as he changes and inspires the lives of everyone he meets. War Horse is a "Genuine Movie Masterpiece" and one of the most powerful and moving stories of friendship ever told.

Great story! Very moving indeed. :) Technically this film was embarrassing to watch. Whoever did the lighting deserves to be sacked with multiple shadows cast across fields, the acting was terrible with loads of Nazis somehow having Irish and North-of-England accents, and the last scene was shot using a bucket of pee as a sunset filter...

Good film for children and watchable for adults. Good photography and effects with a sound story line albeit somewhat of a boys own theme. Similar in some ways to "Saving Private Ryan" by the same director but well worth viewing. Dramatic rather than bloody and so suitable for older children.

Very powerful, emotionally charged movie of the bond between a beautiful animal and humans during a dark period in history. You don't have to be "horse mad" as some reviews have described to be moved by this incredible story..
