Not sure how this got 93% on RT. CGI is average at best (not sure how a large ape mounts a horse with absolutely 0 disturbance to horse or saddle), too many scenes trying to elicit emotion but failing despite emotional music coming on strong😂. Should be called 'Bore for the planet of the apes'

This movie had no right being anywhere near this good it being the finale in a rebooted trilogy. The visuals were flawless and always matched the emotions being portrayed by the film. The score, though falling flat at points, made certain scenes strike home no matter how predictable they were, listen to "exodus wounds". The story was quite predictable at times but in this new environment and film style, it gets a pass.

The story is interesting enough, even though it borrows heavily from other motifs, it keeps you engaged. But what really makes this movie us Andy Serkis, without him the movie will be much less shiny.
