Americans often wreck classic British novels, but this adaptation is quite good and much better than the first American version from the 1950s. More faithful too. Still Orson Welles radioplay remains the greatest adaptation to another medium and Jeff Wayne's classic musical version is also superior.

Would have been good, but kid screaming is like nails down a chalkboard, and it's half the movie.

Destroys everything of importance about the story, and just another Tom Cruise hijacked action movie without the talent for storytelling
