As a Warcraft fan of 10 years, I thought the movie was awesome for its faithfulness to the source material. WoW is known for its "cartoonish" aesthetic & the filmmakers managed to translate it to live-action without looking the least bit silly. Even the magic spells were so faithful that I could identify what it was from having played the games. That being said, it was bad as a movie due to wooden acting, weak dialogue, and flat story. But only on the human side - the orc side was better in every way.

As numerous reviewers (both fans and non-fans alike) before me have stated, this movie is a waste of time. If you want Warcraft, play World of Warcraft. This movie does a disgraceful job of representing the Warcraft Universe, and that's coming from someone who knows the lore like the back of his hand. Warcraft isn't decent. It isn't awful, either, though that would honestly be preferable. The critics are right this time. This movie is a flop at best.

Sadly I spent hard earned cash to see this pointless flick while it was still in theaters. Sadder still, I'll never get that money or time back. Speaking of money, it's clear that the film's budget was all earmarked for the CGI so the makers were evidently forced to borrow Gru's Minions for the live action sequences, and overlay their bulbous yellow bodies with yet more CGI while dubbing their cute but incomprehensible voices over with some CGI crew using fake British accents. Epic fail.
