I saw magazine photos of the actors with the elephant chained! Unless it's fun loving & does not require making the animals work hard, I usually do not agree with any movie involving acting that includes animals. Some movies that are funny seem fine with domesticated animals. And there are some movies that take good care of wild animals on set. But normally I do not like seeing any movie involving big animals, especially horses, elephants or any wild animals. Its sad to watch at times.

A lot of really excellent books that are translated into movies unfortunately don't turn out so well these days, but this was not the case with Water for Elephants. I think the adaptation was brought to life extremely well, & that the two leads Reese and Robert did a good job at bringing the characters to life, but without a doubt the elephant Rosie was my favorite character & stole the show. remember reading & rating this book 5 stars. I think this film ended up being pretty good.

The abuse of the animal was a little hard to watch. Beautiful storyline. Loved Robert Pattison's acting. Reese Witherspoon's was ok. I feel like something was missing. Maybe if there was a different female lead with better acting chops, I would have enjoyed the film more. Still enjoyed the movie!
