In Buenaventura-Colombia, a kingdom of corruption and drug trafficking, Harvey and his three friends are doomed to a life of poverty and uncertainty. While attempting to escape their harsh reality, they use music and urban dance to overcome and defy their violent destiny.

Has a some great influences it wears on its sleeve sharing a lot of elements from films like 8 Mile and even a bit of Breakin' for the old school heads among others. Stands on it's own though thanks to being set against the back drop of a coastal town in Colombia where the drug trade and corruption make for a true struggle. The town's name Buenaventura means "good fortune" the movie is worth a watch to find out if it's namesake makes good for the characters looking to break out.

This movie is great. If you are looking for a film like city of god but with insane dancing, this is a must see. Highly recommended.

Exciting touching film about black Colombian boys escaping daily life struggles with their passion for dance. Really wonderful scenes of brotherhood and awesome dance moves. Beautifully shot and powerful acting. Black Orpheus meets Hip Hop.
