Choreographed by eight-time world hip hop champion Parris Goebel and featuring her ReQuest dance crew, BORN TO DANCE is the story of Tu (Tia Maipi): stuck in a dead-end job at a recycling plant with his best friend Benjy (Australian Idol winner Stan Walker) in the south side of Auckland, Tu’s only passion is dance, as his local crew preps for a shot at New Zealand’s national championship and a better life. Not impressed, his father gives him six weeks to find a career or he’ll enlist Tu in the army. More impressed are three-time world champs K-Crew on Auckland’s wealthy north shore, who offer Tu an audition. Tu keeps the tryouts a secret from his dad and his crew, but can’t keep secret his feelings for K-Crew member Sasha (Kherington Payne) – who happens to be dating the leader of K-Crew.
