It's sad because even though the west Memphis three are still alive, their childhood and prime years of their lives were taken as well. I couldn't imagine being a young teen and being innocent and charged for crimes I didn't commit. The state was more worried about how they looked and haven't even looked for any other suspects or followed up on leads. They just didn't like Damien for how he was back then and seemed like they wanted it to be him.

I live in Kansas, fairly close to Arkansas, and Oklahoma, I am nearly the same age as the WM3, and the very fact that this even happened is scary, but I don't find it hard to believe. I remember the "satanic panic" in our area of the country especially, where people are very culturally sheltered in places. I had been accused of worshiping the devil when I was 15 in 1993. Because I had black hair, wore black clothing, liked horror and listened to punk and metal. We were just kids, silly kids!

I wasn't aware of this case growing up until I watched devils knot. I had to tell my mom about this movie because it made me sick. She then told me it was real. I wasn't sure if I believed the wm3 were innocent until I watched this movie. The things these 3 went through is horrible..and bless those little boys and their families. My prayers are with them.
