Despre acest film

Innovative director Spike Jonze collaborates with celebrated author Maurice Sendak to bring one of the most beloved books of all time to the big screen in "Where the Wild Things Are," a classic story about childhood and the places we go to figure out the world we live in. The film tells the story of Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. Max lands on an island where he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions. The Wild Things desperately long for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. Max soon finds, though, that ruling his kingdom is not so easy and his relationships there prove to be more complicated than he originally thought. MPAA Rating: PG © 2009 KLG Film Invest GmbH. Ok so I went to go see this at the movies becuase I loved the book as a child. Walking out if the theater I was complaining that this was nothing like the book and in fact a lot more violent than necessary. Spoiler: one of the things tried to kill the boy and another got his arm ripped off. These things did not happen in the book. I realise that the movie will not be like rhe book but for a childrens book and show this one took it to far.

I understand that when most books get made into movies that some things are left out, that it is inevitable and the problem isn't that extra stuff was added (it was needed in a book this short). The problem was that they didn't stick to the book where it had detail. Max does not run away, his room becomes the outside world. It may not seem like such a big deal to some, but for me it made what would have been an excellent movie something less.

This is a great movie, for older kids. If u have a kid under the age of 8, I would not recommend for them to watch it because the movie contains major emotional impact which may be a little complicated for younger kids to understand and some of the main characters do use some swear words once in a while. So, I honestly recommend this movie for people ages 8+. BTW, excellent movie!!!! :)
