I wasn't looking for a comedy. I was in the Persian Gulf in '87 and wanted a reminder why I don't want to go back. The scene where they get mobbed by people for taking pictures actually happened to me. A marine with a camera got us in trouble in Bahrain. I almost had a flashback :)

After trying hard and failing to like Tina Fey in previous movies (Sister's comes to mind) I had very low expectations going into this one. Turned out to be quite good and Fey was perfect in the role. Definitely worth seeing for a good bit of movie making and entertainment.

Very enjoyable and light. Sure it's heavy for a comedy, but by no means as heavy as most of the movies shot about Afghanistan. More like a feel good mid-life crisis movie about going to Afghanistan.
