A superb cast brings a wonderful story of a girl realizing that she may not fully have understood her world as a child, and we join her as she gradually realizes the truth. A great character driven drama with realistic plot twists that are brilliantly brought to life. This is true dramatic story telling at its best.

This could have been a great movie, but it's just not. The whole first hour is useless. Not worth the time for only 20 minutes worth of a story.

Coming of age story of a teenage girl in the midst of her mother's depression and decline while witnessing a marriage that was no more. Shailene is brilliant and believable while Eva Green channeled "Penny Dreadful".
