Ballet was .. eh in my world until Baryshnikov came along. Tap belonged mostly to Sammy Davis. Then I watched this movie .. I HAD taped it long ago once it came out on the television, but try finding a decent VCR that works any more 😕 .. that movie is capable of giving anyone that pays attention to those men dancing a serious case of goosebumps. They're incredible in this movie. Gregory Hines did an amazing job of bringing back the tap genre through this movie. Overall great movie 👍

White Nights shows the ugly yet beautiful side of the old Soviet Union. Barishkynov is young, handsome and agile moving like an angel still.... just the thought of this movie transforms me to my youth and my driven desire to go to Russia

The 1980's were a very tense time but they were also full of wonder. That's what I felt the first, second and every other time I watched this movie. The tension, intrigue and the wonderful interaction between "Kolya" and "Raymond," made this movie the perfect analog for how America saw Russia at the time. Also, it can't be understated how beautiful and talented both the then relatively new Isabella Rosselini and the always wonderful Helen Mirren were. The views and music was PERFECT! Enjoy!
