For U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale Snow Angels, The Aviator), things are about to get even more dangerous. A predictable, paint-by-numbers formulaic "thriller". The standard is set within the first ten minutes, when the extremely good looking female lead and main character - whom the viewer can assume is meant to be portrayed as a feisty, professional, respected law-enforcement officer - is introduced by means of a lingering scene of slowly undressing and showering. To add insult to the injuries sustained by our intelligence via the viewing of this movie, the writers show blatant disregard for the physics of cold weather, wind and ice, and don't make any attempt to introduce a single character that isn't a hackneyed cliche; good looking female lead; good looking male lead; ineffectual token black guy; fatherly mentor who surely wouldn't hurt a flea; and an ill-mannered Australian. I wholly recommend sharing the cost of this movie with a friend, as you only need to see half of it to correctly conclude who'll be revealed as the culprit by the end of the movie. HINT: It's the one you are meant least to suspect, and which - if you've seen at least three mainstream thrillers from the '90s - you know is in fact who you should most suspect (select from the list of cliche characters above).
