About this movie

With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behavior, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone. WILD powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.

If ever there was an allegory for testing your kit before you go this is it. Reese Witherspoon blunders from moronic situation to bad decision for the entire length of this film. She is literally bewildered by everything she encounters and needs help from everyone she meets or she would have ended up dead. Seriously. But at least she learned something about strength and resilience blah blah blah.

This is my favourite movie of all time. I have never related to a storyline so much. A beautiful story of a strong, feminist woman, who learns to overcome life's toughest hurdles by hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Any hikers reading this, it's really worth a watch. Highly, highly recommended

A long walk fixed her problems. How much is true I don't know or care. I say fair enough. I was more interested in seeing the landscape which is not given enough screen time...a shame.
