Een wildjager (Jeremy Renner) helpt beginnend FBI-agente (Elizabeth Olsen) bij het oplossen van een mysterieuze moord in het wetteloze indianenreservaat Wind River en wordt hierdoor geconfronteerd met zijn traumatische verleden. 'Wind River' is het regiedebuut van Taylor Sheridan, schrijver van de veelgeprezen films 'Sicario' en 'Hell or High Water'. De film werd op het festival van Cannes bekroond met de prijs voor beste regie in 'Un Certain Regard'.

Verlaten koude landschappen, inheemse volken, een moord en jager. Alle benodigde elementen zijn aanwezig. Plus een goede sfeer die wordt neergezet maakt dit voor mij een topfilm.

Wind River is a very nicely made and deeply moving action/drama movie with a based on a true story setting, which will tell the viewer about the many hardships the native American people have to endure and the way justice for them is usually not around in so many cases.. As the story goes: When in a silent and remote place called Wyoming, a young native American lady has been found dead and shortly after an F.B.I woman starts the initial investigation with the help of a renowned tracker they soon stumble upon more evidence that this was no ordinary death/crime but more likely a murder scene with a trail that is already running cold so speed & time is of the essence if they ever want to know the truth.... To conclude: Watch this movie if you're really interested by the Native American culture and also if watching based on a true story/events is your thing, then this movie will not disappoint. 5/5 stars recommendation *****
