About this movie

Four lives intertwine amid the hustle and bustle of 1950s Coney Island in Woody Allen's Wonder Wheel, a searing tale of passion and betrayal. There's Ginny (Kate Winslet), an emotionally volatile former actress now working as a waitress; Humpty (Jim Belushi), Ginny's rough-hewn carousel operator husband; Mickey (Justin Timberlake), a handsome young lifeguard; and Carolina (Juno Temple), Humpty's long-estranged daughter, who is hiding out from gangsters at her father's apartment. Kate Winslet is magnificent in this gorgeous, bittersweet romance, lensed by master cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, who saturates Wonder Wheel with colour and light to create a lush, visual delight. 2017 Gravier Productions, Inc.

Woody Allen does it again with help from fabulous actors and a wonderful, lush and expensive set. How does Woody stamp his style so thoroughly on the actors? Sometimes Kate Winslet cannot hide her sense of fun but in this She is as serious as a heart attack. Coney Island as a set is so very Woody! This drama gives a "Streetcar Named Desire" a run for its money. Twists and turns will keep you immersed and suspended. The characters contain all the neurosis you would expect Woody to channel. Woody fans will not be disappointed. I am in awe of the way Woody just has the shadow of gangsters terrify the audience without actually spilling a drop of blood on screen! The guy is a genius, but we think we all know that!! Mrs Bruce.
