What a wonderful film. The down side is the attempted humour to films such as HEAVAN CAN WAIT, which may have won oscars in 1979, but the outer body swap does not deliver as well as today. The story is not the strength of this movie, but the essence of who Wonder Woman is, is. Gal Gadot proves far more competent than Lynda Carter could do, by bringing wonder and heart to Diana weilding her tiara and lasso in creative ways. Feels like a Disney decent popcorn family fun film than violent garbage.

If the aim for the film was to attract or expand its audience range or reach especially the younger ones, then it thoroughly succeeded. But I suspect most fans would say that compared to the original it unfortunately failed considerably. Although one may also view this film as best superhero flick from 80s. For me the biggest disappointment is the glaring gaps in the character developments and undercooked plot. Sorry for being harsh but I'm a DC loyal fan.

In an era where a superhero movie is defined by its intricate plot and storyline or the iconic breathtaking action scenes, Wonder Woman 1984 delivers us something truly unique. With more creative freedom here than she had on the first film, director Patty Jenkins crafted a story that is more focused on its characters and their ongoing journeys throughout the length of the film. Gal Gadot once more takes up the tiara and lasso with passion as Diana faces a trial of temptation when a wish she has made brings back Steve Trevor, played again by Chris Pine, who has an arc of his own that deals with his new place in the world. Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal gives us through their characters Max Lord and Barbara Minerva well-rounded and sympathetic villains who audiences may find common ground with once their motivations are known. Is this the greatest action movie ever? No. Is it dark and edgy? No. Is it a well-told story driven by its characters rather than other elements? Yes. Is it a cinematic masterpiece waiting in the wings to be judged by the general public with a more fair view in the future? Most definitely.
