About this movie

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

It was okay till after the no mans land/bell tower scene (except continuous speed up slow down shots was tedious). But as soon as she bombs through that bell tower it switches to another typical Snyde-esk dumpster fire with lightning, rubble, explosions, inconsistent character behaviours and extreme amounts of padding as they realised they had 45 mins to go and 5 minutes worth of story to tell.

So BORING. I don't think I can sit through another super hero flick. I can't see why anyone thought this was a feminist tract. Diana walks around aimlessly in a tiny bustier and high heel boots naïvely serving other people's agendas. Where is her agency? The action sequences are straight out of the Matrix (Bullet time) which was awesome when Neo and his crew were trying to get to Zion in 2001. It is now the year 2017 and Hollywood has strip mined the last deposits of interest from this genre and come up with this piece of junk. Practically nothing happens - Diana goes from her Island to the front line of WW1, clacks her bracelets together and defeats War. That's it. Furthermore the talk of Gods and Greek mythology coupled with WW1 politics is a deeply stupid mix. I guess this is a larger theological questioning than a review of limply written action film, but if there are Gods why would they only choose to help the Allies at this moment in the war? Surely the Germans were praying just as hard.

The beginning of the movie was good. While it was great to see a female as a lead , why is it that in order to be regarded as strong, a woman has to be just like one of the boys? This isn't the great feminist movie that it is made out to be.
