I've been a fan of folk horror writing and films for a couple decades now, and this was a wonderful exploration of the origins of all of the films I've been watching all of this time. I particularly liked how the film connects the dots between colonial cultures and the existing cultures they subjugate,and the resulting fears and anxieties about people and religions that are different. all through this lens of folk horror. I could sense the effort and heart that went into making this documentary and was tickled by how I would be listening to someone expound on an idea, think of a film, and then see it mentioned on screen.
