I think people have a lot of prejudice towards this movie because it is not faithful to the Wrong Turn series from 2003 onwards. Rather than a reboot, this movie is a reimagening of the idea of going off the designated path. It's a very interesting twist on the original and it has its own horror and thriller moments with gore and violence. The ending is great. It's well worth a watch, just don't be so closed minded simply because there aren't inbred cannibals in this one.

Only 2 stars for story effort, makeup and special effects BUT the film is very poor in many other ways. Sadly the film is very 21st century and the gory part isn't even the film its what is cast to happen between actors, the actors in it and the storyline is quite predictable to say the least. With what is cast to happen between actors represents everything that is wrong with the western world, especially America unfortunately.

Stick with it. Definitely improves as it goes on. If you know the previous, unrelated, Wrong Turn movies, you know that things don't always work out. This one holds the tension right to the end. Didn't recognise Matthew Modine at first.
