Backwoods terror and never-jangling suspense meet when Jen (Charlotte Vega) and a group of friends set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course-and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life. Suddenly under siege, Jen and her friends seem headed to the point of no return- unless Jen's father (Golden Globe® nominee Matthew Modine) can reach them in time.

Don't listen to these other reviews. This is a REBOOT/REMAKE. Ofcourse it is not like the other ones, however, I really enjoyed this film because it still has some gruesome scenes and it is not over exaggerated like the old ones. Trust me I love the original, but it is nice that the series is going a different direction. I would definitely love for a second one if it is done right!

Terrible bait-and-switch movie title. This movie has NOTHING to do with the original. It is laughably bad. The uncannily diverse cast of idealistic friends (and heaps of gratuitous social commentary) encountering backwoods hicks feels extraneous and forced and distracts from what a scary movie is supposed to be. On many occasions I wondered if it was intended to be a spoof of bad horror movies. Stay away.

I'm giving it 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a good movie the "victims" were great actors, the movie had great sceens, same traps l, it was your regular Wrong Turn movie but It would've been better if they would've kept the same killers the deformed like characters from the previous movies. They replaced them with some cult of some kind, with regular looking humans that dress with animal skin and heads, but other than that it was a good movie.
