잭 말릭은 고군분투 중인 작곡가였지만 다 지나간 일이다. 이유를 알 수 없는 실신에서 정신을 차린 잭(히메시 파텔)은 비틀즈를 기억하는 게 자신뿐이란 걸 알게 된다. 유명한 비틀즈의 노래를 자기 것인 양 발표해 인기는 급상승하나, 처음부터 유일하게 자기를 믿어준 엘리(릴리 제임스)를 잃을 위험에 처한다. 과거로 돌아갈 문이 영원히 닫히기 전에 잭은 자기가 원하는 게 사랑뿐인지 결정해야 하는데... 아카데미 감독상에 빛나는 대니 보일과 아카데미 각본상 후보에 오른 리처드 커티스의 이 로맨틱 로큰롤 영화에는 케이트 매키넌과 에드 시런도 모습을 드러낸다.

평가 및 리뷰

I now understand that I need The Beatles like I need childhood memories of Christmas and someone to hug me when I'm crying. YESTERDAY is a movie about art, love, and the way that beautiful music changes the very fabric of our culture. Thank you John, Paul, George, and Ringo - a world without your songs would be a world without flowers. (Also, if you've never experienced Hollywood, it IS actually that soulless and cruel. Our money would be better spent elsewhere.) Please, play The Beatles, sing The Beatles, share The Beatles with your children and with an ever aging population who will always hold this music in their hearts.

So much better than expected, grows on you. It’s the music and the supporting characters that make the movie.
