Acerca de esta película

Jack Malik was just another struggling songwriter...but that was yesterday. After a mysterious blackout, Jack (Himesh Patel) discovers he is the only person on earth who remembers The Beatles! As he rockets to fame by passing off the Fab Four's songs as his own, Jack risks losing Ellie (Lily James) – the one person who has loved him and believed in him from the start. Before the door to his old life closes forever, Jack must decide if all he needs is love, after all. Kate McKinnon and Ed Sheeran also star in this romantic rock 'n' roll comedy from Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter Richard Curtis.

I enjoyed the movie and the music. It got tough to watch him spiral out but I liked the final decisions leading to the ending. Himesh was a fantastic musician and I enjoyed his character. Lily did great as the "perfect woman". I honestly hated Kate McKinnon's acting (or rather over acting). She is great in comedy but this required a more subtle touch that she failed miserably. She ruined numerous scenes in the movie.

This movie is adorable. It's light and funny and the music is great (of course). As someone else mentioned in their review, it doesn't give you any insight into the Beatles themselves or why people loved their music, but I think this was more relatable because a lot of modern-day Beatles fans (who didn't grow up in their era) wouldn't know the "behind the music" facts either. There are plenty of "how this band got their start" movies out there, so this was a nice change. Especially Ed Sheeran's part in it. Totally cracked me up! And I laughed at all the things scattered throughout the movie that also mysteriously disappeared from existence. The only thing I personally would have changed is probably the casting of Kate McKinnon; I think she fits a very specific niche role, and I think she was a bit over the top for this film. Even though a lot of it was predictable, there were some surprises in there that I absolutely loved, and even though I only rented this movie today, it's definitely one to own for those comfortable days on the couch when you need a nice feel-good movie to watch. :)

Almost a 5 star must watch movie. For the most part it is a beautiful, heartfelt, and cleverly written movie with a highly talented cast. Unfortunately all scenes with Kate McKinnon in it are painfully unbearable, cluttered with the worse writing and acting attempts that are 100% out of place. She really is the Jar Jar Binks of the film, just even less tolerable. In the end, what could have been an absolute must see, it's just an "okay" movie that should be very low on your to-watch list. Shame.
