It's the fall of 1985. The intertwining tales of three 5th grade friends, Chris, Joe and Ted, unfold in the suburban paradise of Palo Alto, as the threat of a mountain lion looms over the community.

And I used to play with matchbox cars and found a ripped page out of playboy in the woods one time. The fear at the time was the drunken Polish guy beating his wife across the street. The sadness was we didn’t have enough money to go on vacation as much as the neighbors. And the excitement was sitting at my desk and imagining ways to make money and be famous. Like my movie? To wit, neither did I on this flick.

I felt the movie was too short to connect all of the characters in a satisfying way. I left this movie relating to my time in the 80s but not feeling like the plot had come full circle.
