In this psychological thriller from Blumhouse Productions and legendary screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Panic Room), Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried star as a couple seeking a restful vacation in a remote home in the Welsh countryside. What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a terrifying nightmare when reality begins to unravel, dark episodes from the past resurface, and a sinister force in the house refuses to let them leave.

The fact that I had such bad taste as to rent this movie for 20 bucks is more horrifying than the movie itself. The movie, however, is a dreadful watch. Who knew Kevin Bacon was incapable of acting out worry & terror?! They must've given him a substantial check to be in this abomination. Bad script, bad plot, bad acting, lame & predictable surprise reveal. Only rent and watch this if you're into self-punishment, because if you do you will definitely be punishing yourself.

The acting felt hollow except by Essex of all people. The plot is pretty straightforward with the "twist" being anything but. The premise started off pretty cool but the effects and scares get cheaper and lazier as it goes. I was really looking forward to this given the trailer, I was pretty disappointed. I read up about the original novella it was based on after I saw this, and it would have probably been way better had they been more true to the source material than trying to shoehorn this onto it. Watch Stir of Echoes or Jennifer's Body instead for much better works by Bacon and Seyfried, respectively.

This movie was horrible first off how it started was so dumb and I didn't know what to think. 2nd I thought his wife was a mistress and that kid was from his last marriage. Then they said the whole town hated him because of his wife death in which they didn't talk about until the end and still didn't say why she died. Then it's this creepy old guy in they dreams I'm still not sure on why he picked that Family. The whole thing is put together wrongfully. And the end sucks dont buy ita
