À propos de ce film

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions. Presented in a 4:3 format to preserve the integrity of the director’s vision.

This movie is one for the fans of these characters, regardless of peoples preferences of which style of superhero we should embody, whether its your old school Christopher reeves/ Brandon Routh homage, to cavils nuanced modern alien in the 21st century. This movie is an incredible monolith creatively speaking, Snyder's work should be appreciated for what it is, the tone, symbolism, direct comic structuring and inspiration, and of course the incredible energy focus of the score music. This isn't a marvel copy, which is what's refreshing, (no bad blood to marvels cinematic universe, i love both for what they offer, we can have both), that's the beauty of the medium of this art form. I've watched this film about 4 times now, and its incredible the amount of detail and thought put into these characters, the key standouts is most definitely the flash and cyborg, and how each of the members of the justice league represent and aspect of superman's own development as a hero and him accepting his human and alien heritage in what Snyder has commented is the culmination in Kal-Els choice in the black Kryptonian suite. Snyder at least understands that superman's role is to inspire others to action, and he's not tapping into nostalgia pandering in order to achieve this. Ezra Millers flash is incredibly powerful and struggles to relate to the material human world in the similar way that Clarke has to navigate as a Kryptonian on earth, saying he needs friends to relate to and ultimately gets a job in crime lab, in a way that superman get s a job at the daily planet. Aquaman is a child of the human world and the Atlantean world in as much as Clarke is child of earth and krypton, and his struggle to accept both. In the same way general Zod wanted to turn earth into a home of facist reborn krypton and Arthur's half brother king orm of Atlantis trying to do the same of the oceans world. SPOILERS.... . . . . . And then we have Cyborg who is cleverly characterized as superman's spiritual successor as a the next generation of hero, the only one who received an introductory sequence of him exploring his powers, consider, both cyborg and superman were resurrected by the mother boxes, they have a transformative relationship between their fathers, Clarke with his human and alien fathers And cyborg with his father being twice over as a direct chapter title one as a human and one as a cyborg. if superman represented as the last son of a corrupt krypton, cyborg is the son whos pivoted to shape the digital frontier in the modern world, old vs new. Cyborg was tempted like Clarke and Diana (wonder woman) was in their respective arcs Clarke by Zod with the world engine, and Dianna by Ares in World War 1, and Cyborg by the mother boxes (another clever analogy to the 3 Greek mythological fates), but even visually in how Cyborg lost his father to Steppenwolf before his eyes in the same way Clarke lost his human father to a tornado in Man of steel. The amount of nuance Snyder aggregates around his viusal story telling medium is simply incredible, despite his flaws, his passion and attention to detail is experiential, and is admittedly more niche than to your average movie goer, and i think its important to distinguish that so we can celebrate this artform for its complexity rather than how it "should've" been done. If you've been following Snyder's vision for the franchise you'll start to realize he's set the ground work for an awe inspiring multiverse vis a vis through the flash, introducing the old vs new gods, and depending on how they render flashpoint, the possibility if introducing the next younger batman and the rebirth comic story lines involving the characters of watchmen and Dr Manhattan as another possible existential threat even after the Darkseid arc gets completed in the yet warner brothers handicapped greenlit Justice league 2 and 3. Overall this movie is for the fans and it felt like i was watching a comic play out in action, and i love it.

If Justice League(2017) was a Frankenstein's Monster, the Snyder Cut is the T800-it's a machine that fires on all cylinders, offering a perfect equilibrium between fleshing out these characters with proper backstories and balancing that with great action sequences. The 4 hour runtime may seem daunting, but you hardly feel it. If you're willing to put aside the time, I guarantee you, you're in for a film that not only does Snyder's vision justice, but one that truly understands these characters.

A very comprehensive film with so much happening! This answered so many questions that that we were left with from the rush job that was Justice League (2017). It didn't even feel like 4 hours went past. I'd watch more 4 hours movies any day if they are as good as this. Watching this just makes you realise how much was cut from the original. So go and get yourself some snacks, hop on a video call with your besties, (or get together in person) sit back and enjoy 4 hours of quality cinematic storytelling and visuals. Thank you Zack Snyder for masterfully retelling the story in your vision as it was meant to be.
