But when lumber tycoon Gregory Stark(Ryan O'Neal) hires Zero to crack a bizarre case, the dysfunctional detective confronts his most intimate fears as he finds himself falling in love with the beautiful and mysterious prime suspect. Considered cult at this point. Well written and acted. Mystery is secondary to the plot,but that is the reason it works so well.

A funny detective story that doesn't take itself too seriously. Absolutely endearing.

Excellent performances all around and set in beautiful Portland, Oregon.
