About this movie

Devastated by the death of her younger sister, Lily Morel seeks solace at the spiritualist community of Cassadaga. But instead of finding closure, she contacts something else - the vengeful ghost of a murdered young woman. With her life crumbling all-around her, Lily races to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman's death - a task that will bring her face-to-face with a sadistic serial killer known only as "Geppetto". © Pinnacle Films 2012 (Original Title: Cassadaga)

Whilst it endeavours to develop an emotional connection with the viewer early on, the male lead Mike (Kevin Alejandro) feels a little unconvincing and awkward in some of his advances and dialogue that left me cringing during some early scenes. Still, Lily (Kelen Colemen) is endearing and her story interesting enough to carry my attention through the first half. The remainder of the film is something else all together. When the horror does begin to unfold, it's a odd brew predictable tropes from a number of different sub-genres intermixed what some rather cookie-cutter 'potential' villains that I can guarantee you've already seen in a hundred films before. Besides one initial gut churning moment, it all becomes a little predictable and tedious. It's a great shame as Lily's story and her developing relationship with Mike was an interesting one to follow. The gore unfortunately only got in the way of what was the most interesting aspect of the film.

Great movie, better then I thought it would be. One to buy. Would have liked to have seen what happened between the main character and the ex boyfriend in the end but still a great movie
