Rock music icon turned filmmaking auteur, Rob Zombie conjures up a nerve-wracking chiller involving Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ, who receives a wooden box containing a record, a gift from the Lords. What a refreshing moment of film. This movie had me interested from the opening scene. The lords of slalem envelopes in dark art that would not allow me to take my eyes off the screen because I may have missed something. It doesnt rely on gore allthough its their. The music and the actors/characters demeanor was bleak and interesting. In my opinion Rob Zombie films are as unique as tarrantino films from music to scenery to script. Its an awesome break from the dying shass that is hollywood.

I can only give this film 3 stars. The premise is quite good. However, the story telling is labored and too long-winded. There is far too many sub-plots in this one that go nowhere and so do not contribute to the overarching story. The film wallows in attempts to be deep and meaningful through overly elaborate and meaningless fantasy-esque sequences. These are poorly handled and detract from the potential story-line rather than contributing to it. Would I watch it again? No. Should you watch it? Perhaps. If you give it a go be aware that this is nothing like Zombie's other films.

After the absolute delight of 1000 corpses and Devils Rejects I was truly hoping for more but unfortunately Rob Zombie is yet to buy into the trifecta. Moon Zombie was miscast in my opinion.
