Set in 19th Century Colorado but undeniably European in sensibility, Slow West tells the story of sixteen-year-old Jay as he travels from Scotland to the Colorado in pursuit of his lost love.

He is quickly confronted by the dangers of the Frontier and so teams up with a mysterious traveller named Silas, who agrees to protect him - for a price. Just about the most pointless movie I have ever seen in my entire life. It's so bad it almost beggars belief that Fassbender agreed to do it. He must have been drunk when he said "yes" to this script. It's so bad that it should be given to the courts as an alternative punishment instead of jail for criminals. Save yourself the time and money and rent almost anything else, because it would HAVE to be better than this real stinker! May as well have just set fire to the money I used to rent it!

Definitely worth a watch. A little slow in places but a good story none the less.

Filmed in New Zealand only reason that I watched it.
