About this movie

Taking over England's top football club Leeds United, previously successful manager Brian Clough's abrasive approach and his clear dislike of the players' dirty style of play make it certain there is going to be friction. Glimpses of his earlier career help explain both his hostility to previous manager Don Revie and how much he is missing right-hand man Peter Taylor who has loyally stayed with Brighton & Hove Albion. Great performances and almost feels like Cloughie and Revie in their primes. However the book had an obsessive train of Brian's thought running through it which the film doesn't capture and has nothing as compelling to replace it.

This film is a hoot. Clough addressing the Leeds players before the first training session are laugh out loud moments. Mike Sheen's portrayal of Clough's character, mannerisms & voice are wonderfully precise.

Two of the greatest football managers , one with a pure hatred of the others success, Cloughie was a legend but completely misjudged his time at Leeds, Great book,Great film , and an amazingly real portrayal of the best manager Britain has ever had (including old red nose) MOT
