When a Mono epidemic takes the exclusive, popular crowd at Highland Park High out of school for two months, two social rejects, Wyatt and Ivan, start throwing parties and inviting all the outcasts. They become heroes to the nerds, but their plans are thwarted when some of the popular kids return to school after testing negative for the illness. Ivan, who has gone mad with power after getting a taste of popularity, decides to start purposely poisoning the A-listers with Mono to keep them home sick. He convinces Wyatt to go along with his deranged plan. But Wyatt soon realizes he and Ivan have taken on the traits they hated about the popular kids – they’re the ones kicking people out of parties, spreading rumors, etc… When Ivan begins “purging” members of his own circle who have crossed him, Wyatt has to do whatever it takes to stop his megalomaniac friend.
