Brilliant! Electrifying! Think Serpico or Taxi Driver with a gender-bending twist, as Nicole Kidman takes the front seat for this "sunlit noir" that takes place on the streets of Los Angeles. Her Erin Bell, a detective with a scorched-earth past, is an unforgettable character and Kidman is top-notch in every scene. The two stories, one past and one present, orbit around a final twisting reveal that beautifully connects them and packs a wallop. The payoff is exquisite and surprisingly emotional. Long after the film's cerebral, elegiac conclusion, Nicole Kidman's heavy (and I mean that in the best way) performance will linger in your mind. It's one of her top 3 roles in my opinion. Karyn Kusama nailed this picture with the help of her bada** movie star!!

This is a fine example of the Art of film making. A compelling and believable story, backed by fine craftsmanship and superb acting. The beauty and sorrow of humanity is that we are all too human. We make choices and we live with what we choose. And sometimes we find the chance to right a wrong... I highly recomend this film... Ken H
