This is an engaging and sometimes difficult to accept story of humanity's struggle against the nature of mankind's persistence to survive at any cost. Conditions of Stalin era Soviet Union translate to create an understanding of just how arduous life can be in search of the terror of truth when truth is what might cost you your life. Would have made a great limited or mini-series. There was just too much ground to cover from the excellent book.
