Evocation of the reign of Elizabeth I of England, daughter of the powerful Henry VIII and Anne Boylen. After the death of her mother, who was beheaded by order of the king, Elizabeth left the court for Hatfield House where she received an education appropriate to her rank. It was under the protection of the sixth and last wife of King Henry that she gradually regained a place in the royal court. Proclaimed queen in 1558, she ruled in a world dominated by men. She knew how to lead the kingdom, mastering the power game. Her reign gave her country one of the most sumptuous periods in its history.
